Now that its spring, and that I'm soon going to Texas, I want to get a new spring bag. I have a dark leather purse now, and though I love it, (thank you Aunt Bean) it's rather small for all the stuff I have to jam in it. Since the bags at WalMart are really expensive, I decided to make one. Maama has been giving me fabrics and ideas, and when she took me to WalMart to see the different styles I saw exactly what I wanted. Maama came over to my house and we worked on it. Since our sewing machine doesn't have a foot I couldn't finish it. I can't wait until its done!

I Thought this was a cute Poem
Smart
My Dad gave me 1 dollar bill
'Cause' I'm his smartest son
And I traded it for 2 shiny quarters
'Cause' two is more than one
And then I took the quarters
And traded them with Lou
For 3 dimes-I guess he don't know
that 3 is more than 2
Just then along came old blind Bates
And just 'cause' he can't see
He gave me 4 nickels for my 3 dimes
and 4 is more than 3
I took the nickels to Hiram Coombs
Down at the old feed-seed store
And the fool gave me 5 pennies for them
And 5 is more than 4
And then I went and showed my Dad
And he got red in the cheeks
And closed his eyes and shook his head
Too proud of me to speak!
